Squid Works assists its members to succeed in their respective artistic ambitions by providing small-press and self-published creators distribution and promotion to independent-friendly stores. Squid Works also functions as an online hub that showcases members’ work. To keep the word local meaningful, however, Squid Works does limit its membership to people in Colorado. Our physical meetings are held on the second Sunday of each month at the Enchanted Grounds located at 8800 S. Colorado Blvd., Highlands Ranch, 80126. You can find directions to it at http://www.enchantedgrounds.com/directions.html. The meetings are free and open to anyone. You do not have to be member to attend the meetings, nor is there pressure for you to join, only to share your work. There is a small annual fee if you wish become a catalog member of Squid Works which includes your placement in our online catalog that is regularly promoted to around 100 retailers worldwide. Our Mission:
Our mission is to become the established leader in small-press, self-published creators' comics distribution and comics creator incubation in the Denver Metro area. These goals will be achieved through regular critiques and monthly meetings, educational and community outreach, convention participation and reliable, and continuing release of promotional information about new creator work to Indy-Friendly retailers in Colorado and other national and international markets. Squid Works strives to be a desirable distribution channel for up-and-coming comic creators of Denver and the surrounding area.

Our Strategy:
Creators can characterize us as a networking and PR assistant. For a small annual fee, creators will have their offering posted on the Squid Works website and in the quarterly catalog sent to independent-friendly retailers. In addition, each quarter new offerings will be posted using the creator made media press release as a feature article for the new work/book in the features area of the website under quarterly update. New features are added to the dealer-only area of our site where dealers can download a promotional flyer to promote the new book and attract direct market customers to their stores. This flyer is also mailed to a select group of retailers to further promote these new offerings. Members will have the opportunity to participate in monthly member meetings and comic related events as representatives of Squid Works, including serving in convention panels, workshops and jam sessions related to community outreach, education and marketing goals. To keep costs low, we consign product from our member creators who are paid upon sale to the retailers.
